Client Alert: NYS Relaxes Mask Mandate Starting Tomorrow
Governor Hochul has announced that effective tomorrow, February 10, 2022, businesses in NYS no longer need to require a “fully vaccinated environment” in order to allow individuals to go maskless. As you are probably aware, the current rule is that either everyone be fully vaccinated or everyone (regardless of vaccination status) has to wear a mask. Starting tomorrow, only unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask indoors.

Client Alert: NYS Mask Mandate Remains In Effect
Yesterday, a Nassau County judge issued a decision ruling that the NYS mask mandate is unenforceable. This created understandable confusion about whether NYS’ mask mandate remains in effect. NYS’ mask mandate does remain in effect for the time being. NYS has already filed an appeal, and the appellate court stayed the Nassau County decision – meaning that the mask mandate remains in effect until there is a decision on the appeal.

Client Alert: Updates Regarding COVID-19 Quarantine and Isolation Guidance
New York recently issued updated isolation and quarantine guidance to align itself with the CDC (collectively referred to as the “New Quarantine Rules”). The New Quarantine Rules apply to everyone in New York, and supersede the previously-announced rules applicable to “critical workers” as well as the New York guidance issued on January 4, 2022.

Client Alert: Supreme Court Blocks OSHA Large Employer Vax-or-Test Mandate
The U.S. Supreme Court has just blocked the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Emergency Temporary Standard that would have required employers with 100 or more employees to mandate that employees either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or test weekly (the “100+ ETS”).

Client Alert: CDC Updates COVID-19 Quarantine Guidelines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new guidance updating the isolation and quarantine period for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, both after testing positive for COVID-19 and after being in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 (“CDC Revised Quarantine Guidance”).
